Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide care and support to expectant mothers during the birthing process, ensuring a safe and comfortable delivery experience.
Duties:
- Monitor the health of both mother and baby throughout labor
- Assist with pain management techniques
- Administer medications as needed
- Assist with infant care immediately post-delivery
- Educate new parents on newborn care
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate patient records
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license and BLS ACLS certification, NIHSS
- Previous experience in labor and delivery preferred
- Proficient in IV insertion and acute pain management
- Knowledge of workers' compensation laws related to maternity leave
- Familiarity with coding and case management
- Ability to phlebotomize when necessary
- Experience in emergency room settings or assisted living facilities is a plus
